At The Unconventional Therapists, we believe healing doesn’t have to feel like homework, lectures, or sugar-coated positivity.
We’re a team of clinicians who share one mission:
👉 real talk, trauma-informed care, and burnout recovery for people who are over the bullshit.
Some of us specialize in working with helping professionals who are exhausted and questioning everything. Others love working with creative, neurodivergent, or trauma-survivor clients who want therapy that actually feels human. Together, we cover a wide spectrum — but our common ground is compassion, authenticity, and a little bit of sarcasm when you need it.
Owner & Clinical Director
Hi, I’m Kate.
I help people who are tired of pretending they’re fine — whether it’s from trauma, toxic workplaces, or carrying the weight of being “the strong one.”
My clients are often helpers themselves: therapists, social workers, teachers, nurses, and nonprofit leaders who give everything away and are running on fumes. Or they’re everyday humans who hate therapy-speak but know something has to change.
Here, therapy is real talk with compassion and sarcasm. We cut through the bullshit, sit with the hard stuff, and use tools that actually fit your life. No toxic positivity. No “just journal about it” unless you want to.
If you’re exhausted, over it, and craving something different — welcome home.
You don’t need to hold it all together anymore.

Because they’re exhausted from being “the strong one.”
Because they’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t fit.
Because they want a therapist who doesn’t flinch at the hard stuff — or judge the messy stuff.
We’re here for the burned out, the fed up, the traumatized, and the ones who are tired of holding it all together. If that’s you, you’ve found your people.
